Plant Manager

Job Description

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing operations of the plant, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety standards. This role involves strategic planning, staff management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The Plant Manager will play a critical role in optimizing processes and driving continuous improvement to achieve organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Operational Management:

    • Oversee daily plant operations, including production, maintenance, and quality assurance.
    • Ensure the plant achieves its production targets while minimizing downtime and waste.
  2. Team Leadership:

    • Lead, train, and manage plant staff to ensure high levels of performance and morale.
    • Develop a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  3. Process Improvement:

    • Identify and implement strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions where necessary.
  4. Safety and Compliance:

    • Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations across the plant.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  5. Budget and Resource Management:

    • Prepare and manage the plant’s budget to optimize resource utilization.
    • Monitor costs to ensure efficient use of materials and labor.
  6. Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure that all products meet quality specifications and customer requirements.
    • Coordinate with the quality control team to address any quality issues.
  7. Supply Chain Coordination:

    • Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to maintain adequate inventory levels.
    • Ensure timely delivery of materials and shipment of finished goods.
  8. Reporting:

    • Provide regular updates and reports on plant performance to senior management.

Job Specifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in plant operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficient in production planning, lean manufacturing, and process optimization.
    • Knowledge of safety and quality regulations.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.
