Regional Sales Manager

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic FMCG professional with over 10 years of sales and distribution experience, specifically in the Eastern market of Nepal (Biratnagar). The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a deep understanding of local market dynamics and distribution networks. They should be fluent in Nepali, comfortable in English and Hindi. We seek someone who shares our company's vision, is passionate about growth, and can motivate and lead a regional sales team to achieve ambitious targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the sales operations for the Eastern region of Nepal, overseeing all distribution, sales, and market development activities.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies tailored to the specific needs of the Eastern region, driving growth in key markets.
  • Ensure strong market penetration and sales performance across multiple channels, including retail, wholesale, and direct distribution.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key distributors, retailers, and partners within the East region, ensuring seamless distribution and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies and maintain market leadership.
  • Effectively manage the sales team, providing coaching, mentoring, and support to ensure a high-performing, motivated team.
  • Collaborate with other departments (marketing, supply chain, finance) to ensure aligned and coordinated efforts towards achieving sales objectives.
  • Utilize and oversee the Distributor Management System (DMS) to optimize distribution efficiency, inventory management, and reporting.
  • Regularly report on sales metrics, KPIs, and regional performance to senior management.
  • Drive company initiatives and share in the company’s vision to foster growth and long-term success within the region.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven experience in sales and distribution in the FMCG sector, with a minimum of 10 years, preferably with a focus on the Eastern market of Nepal.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a regional sales team.
  • Proficient in utilizing Distributor Management Systems (DMS) and other sales software.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in Nepali, and working proficiency in English and Hindi.
  • In-depth knowledge of market dynamics, customer behavior, and the competitive landscape in the Eastern region of Nepal.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of regional sales targets and performance.
  • A strategic thinker who is aligned with the company’s vision and passionate about contributing to its growth and success.
